Volunteer Transportation Network
The Volunteer Transportation Network is available to veterans who have no other means of transportation to local VA facilities. A core group of regularly scheduled volunteer drivers are available to help veterans get to their VA medical appointments.
To get transportation to a VA appointment through the Volunteer Transportation Network, you must be a veteran who can walk unassisted to and from the van. Veterans must call 3-5 business days before their scheduled VA appointment to arrange transportation:

Requests to use the Volunteer Transportation Network are filled on a first come, first serve basis.
VAMC Shuttle Bus to VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System
To help veterans get to their scheduled VA appointments at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, the James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center provides bus services, twice daily, to VA Pittsburgh. Veterans and their caregivers can use this service. Pick-up and drop-off points are in Altoona, Ebensburg, and Blairsville. Reservations must be made in advance by calling (814) 940-7838 or toll free 1-877-626-2500, extension 7838.
